ALLISON ALLEN'S PIANO STUDIO

2026-27 School Year: Weekly 30 minute lessons begin the week of August 3 and conclude the week of May 17, 2027. Summer lessons in June and July will then be scheduled on a week by week basis, at the rate of $24/lesson. No lessons will be held during the following weeks, following my children’s school schedule:

 

Week of Oct 5 (one week of Fall Break)

Week of Nov 23 (one week of Thanksgiving Break)

Weeks of Dec 21 and 28 (two weeks of Christmas Break)

Week of Mar 15 (one week of Spring Break)

Week of May 24th (beginning of Summer Break)

 

Lesson Schedule: I have reserved space for each student with the understanding that we will have a lesson each week at that time. If a permanent conflict arises with this lesson time, please feel free to contact me to discuss alternate arrangements. I am happy to work with you to ensure a weekly lesson time that complements both of our schedules.

Payment: Tuition from August to May is $90 per month, due the first lesson of the month (beginning in August). You may pay through Venmo (@Allison-Allen-26), check, or cash. If using ESA funds and paying through Class Wallet, I will email an invoice each month that you can submit.      

        

*Note, there are 37 lessons during the school year, which averages to about $24  per lesson

Missing Lessons: No payment credit or refund will be given for lessons missed by students. Please understand that the tuition you pay reserves a specific weekly time in my schedule for each student. You are paying for your lesson time, not for your attendance. I request that you notify me in advance if you will be missing a lesson for any reason. Make-up lessons or time adjustments may be made at my discretion.

If I must cancel lessons due to illness or emergency, a reasonable effort to schedule a make-up lesson will be made. If a make-up lesson cannot be scheduled, the student will be given a credit on the following month’s tuition at the rate of $24 per missed lesson.

Materials: You must have a piano or keyboard at home for regular practice. If choosing a keyboard, ensure it is full-sized with weighted keys and pedals. You will also be responsible to provide a simple spiral notebook and purchase required music books as directed.

 

Practicing: Regular piano practice (5 days a week) is essential to progression. Students will develop skills more quickly and your money will be better spent through regular practice. Schedule a time for practice in your daily routine. You may consider creating a chart and incentives if that helps. A general rule of thumb is that beginners should practice for 10-15 minutes. Students who have been playing longer should practice 15-20 minutes daily. Intermediate students should practice for at least 30 minutes.

 

Recitals: Mark your calendars! Studio recitals will be held at Hammer and Strings Lizt Recital Hall, 610 N Gilbert Rd #400, Gilbert. Recitals are a wonderful opportunity for musicians to work toward a goal and showcase their progress, and I highly encourage each student to participate!
